Over the past two decades, northern based Guttermaster has been taking care of the roof drainage and roof edge detailing on buildings across the construction spectrum. In more recent times however their expertise in rainscreen cladding and innovative façade detailing has begun to feature in various London based landmark projects from Battersea to Wandsworth, Golders Green to Clapham town centre. So it was no surprise that sister company; Fusion Facades was born.
Incorporated in 2012, Fusion Facades has set its sights on becoming the architects’ choice when it comes to adding that extra sizzle to those building projects destined to join the Capital’s landmarks of the future. A prime example is Clapham One, an award winning mixed-use regeneration scheme which has transformed leisure services across two sites in Clapham town centre, south west London.
The Public Private Partnership scheme provides Clapham with a new, highly sustainable leisure centre, a new, state-of-the-art library, a new family medical centre and some of the most high quality residential accommodation in the borough including affordable housing in partnership with Notting Hill Housing Group.
With more than a nod to Gaudi’s Barcelona masterpieces evident in the liquid curves of the building’s exterior, the window pods in futuristic stainless polished involved Fusion Facades in the design and fabrication of six hundred and twenty mirror finish stainless steel window liners in 36 different formats.
Looking at the company’s involvement in St. Georges Battersea Reach developments, Guttermaster brought its roof edge engineering skills to bear on the faceted capping detail which lends style to a busy roofscape. The glare- stopping brise soleil sprouting from the roofline and facades falls well within the capabilities of the Guttermaster Group, with its engineering skills base in aluminium fabrication.
The company’s recent £1m contract to face “The Filaments” apartment block in Wandsworth SW18 with colour coded aluminium rainscreen panels, involved them once again in an exciting landmark project. This new development clad in Fusion Facades’ anodised natural and champagne finish aluminium rainscreen panels, adopts, perhaps appropriately, Copperlight and Aurora for the naming of its apartment blocks.
So it probably comes as no surprise that the company has recently adopted LandMarkä as the new brand for its comprehensive façade panel and fixings systems.
