CCWS Interiors Transforms FinTech Company’s London Office

CCWS Interiors Transforms FinTech Company’s London Office

One of the world’s leading FinTech organisations, Currencycloud is a global payments platform built on smart technology, taking the complexity out of moving money. When looking to renovate its London HQ, Currencycloud appointed CCWS Interiors to undertake the design-and-fit brief based on its creativity, flexible fixed-cost procurement route and enthusiasm for the company culture.

Situated in the bustling East End of London, overlooking the famous Spitalfields Market, the open-plan space is a hub for the company’s fast-paced and creative tech-based environment. Housing a workforce of dynamic and switched-on individuals, the Currencycloud office refit needed to reflect the ethos and working style of its employees. Headed up by CCWS Interiors’ David Keane and Amy Elliott, the design-and-build duo worked closely with the Currencycloud Project Team to bring the brief to life with as little disruption to the day-to-day workings of the company as possible. Completely free from any bland or siloed ways of working, the Currencycloud team embraced CCWS’ design concepts to transform the open-plan office into an interactive and relaxed working environment that reflected the identity and structure of the organisation.

CCWS transformed the office with long bench seating, height-adjustable ‘sit-stand’ desks and a variety of flexible working areas, which included open non-bookable collaborative areas. At the centre of the project is a Bleacher-style presentation area, built from weather wood planks and in-built with power points, all facing a feature blackboard presentation wall. This interactive working zone is flanked by a Barista style café, featuring oversized reclaimed tables, an eclectic mixture of seating styles and a sociable raised bar area where employees can enjoy some down time. This leisure space continues on to lounge-style sofas, hanging hammock chairs, a video games area and the star of the show: an artificial grass-covered breakout and ‘pitch’n’putt’ area. When looking to the interior aesthetics, the refit was characterised by industrial design elements, seen in the use of rustic wood cladding and exposed brick surfaces, alongside playful pops of colour that have been used to differentiate the various working and leisure areas.
