Rockfon ArticTM is the ceiling of choice for leading electronics retailer

Rockfon ArticTM is the ceiling of choice for leading electronics retailer

The electronics specialist retailer, Maplin is adding to its network of 205 stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland. The new Rockfon Artic ceiling range and RockLink Grid system has been installed in five stores so far. Architects and Building Surveyors, Squires and Brown, specified the Artic range for the new Maplin stores and Architectural Technician, Paul Riley explained the reasons behind their choice:

“Maplin stores can be located on the high street or in large retail parks and sell a large range of electronic products within a clean, modern designed interior. The ceilings within the stores must be durable, provide good sound absorption and have an attractive finish.  We chose Artic ceiling tiles because they provide the qualities we wanted and are affordable. We plan to install Artic in all future stores.”

Rockfon Artic was launched in April this year and has proved to be a run away success.  These smooth white, 15mm thick tiles provide optimum light reflection and offer all the unique stone wool performance characteristics you would expect from ROCKFON, including enhanced sound absorption (0.8aw) making them ideal for use in retail and office environments.

Michael Kinsey and Ian Grant of GK Shopfitters Limited, who installed approximately 500m2 Artic A edge in the recently opened Maplin Redditch store – the first branch fitted with the new Artic tiles – were very impressed with how easy and fast the tiles are to install and with the finished look of the ceiling.

“I would completely recommend the Rockfon Artic system; its many benefits make it an easier system to use all round, and it leaves you with a clean, fresh, modern-looking ceiling. The tiles sit well in the grid system, the joints are barely visible and there’s no shadow effect as you often find with a lot of other grid systems. I have used Artic in five Maplin stores and will continue to use it wherever possible.”

Artic tiles can be used to create either semi-concealed or exposed grid ceilings and are backed up by a 15-year guarantee. They are designed to withstand up to 100% humidity and offer the safest Class A1 fire performance.

Like all other ROCKFON tiles, Artic helps create the perfect indoor environment whilst protecting the external environment by upcycling off-cuts and end-of-life tiles at its UK factory.

Daniel Broyd, ROCKFON Sales Director commented.

“The combination of high performance characteristics and an affordable price tag really seem to have struck a chord with specifiers and contractors looking to retain quality in these financially challenging times”.
