Blinds Championed as Go-To Option for all Interior Design Styles

Blinds Championed as Go-To Option for all Interior Design Styles

As an interior feature in their own right, blinds are being championed as the ideal accompaniment to any interior décor style. According to interior design experts at ExclusiveMod and HomeZada, there are five top interior design styles most commonly used: modern, traditional, contemporary, classic and industrial. UK blinds experts Lifestyle Blinds claim it has a type of blind to match all these popular interiors.

Naomi Showman, Interior Design Consultant at Lifestyle Blinds said, “We have hundreds of different designs and colours in all of the blind staples: Venetian, vertical, Roman and roller blinds. We understand that each interior design trend calls for a different type of window styling, and of course each room of the house needs a different type of blind.”

The industrial trend has grown rapidly in recent years, and is often seen in loft apartments or converted warehouses and other industrial buildings. Open floor plans are common in this style, and designers or homeowners utilise natural materials such as brick, metal or wood. Naomi explained, “A simple roller blind or Venetian blind with clean lines would work well in this kind of design environment. White, black or grey would be the perfect colour for the urban, industrial style.”

In a traditional styled room, most furniture and furnishings match in pairs or complement one another perfectly, and floral patterns are often used. Again, a roller blind would sit well in a traditional interior and Lifestyle Blinds recommend a number of patterned options. The Renoir collection would ideally suit this sort of style, and there are a number of colours to choose from to suit the décor already used in the interior.

For modern and contemporary interior design, Naomi recommends vertical blinds as these share the same qualities as many of the other features in the room. She added, “Modern interiors are very minimalistic – they avoid excessive decoration which means people opting for this style wouldn’t choose curtains. Colours usually remain neutral, which means white or cream verticals would work wonders in this room as it would also let in lots of light.”

When it comes to classic interiors, dark woods and traditional furniture is favoured over contemporary pieces. Elegant fabrics and designs are commonplace, and a room dressed like this would usually have curtains hanging. However, to have full control of the amount of light in the room it is a good idea to double up with blinds and curtains. Wooden Venetian blinds would be the best choice for a classically decorated room.
