Demand for bespoke seating solutions soars

The need to stand out from the crowd and to provide that luxury wow factor has created an unprecedented growth in demand for bespoke seating solutions, according to the leading handcrafted upholstery manufacturer, Lyndon Design.

“Over recent years, we have witnessed a surge in bespoke handcrafted seating across both small and large scale projects, as customers now require upholstery that provides jaw-dropping decadence, combined with comfort, flexibility and practicality,” says Tim Armitt, Managing Director at Lyndon Design.

“Our bespoke banquette seating is a popular specification, particularly in those restaurants and hotels where space is at a premium or where the most prevalent requirement is to accommodate large numbers of people,” explains Tim.

The company’s bespoke seating solutions are featured throughput leading four star, five star, and boutique hotels and restaurants around the globe. These specifications clearly demonstrate the product design and manufacturing capabilities for which Lyndon Design is renowned.

“Bespoke banquette seating offers a flexible solution; from dining areas within a staff café or fine restaurant, to collaborative and breakout spaces. Skillfully designed to fit almost any given environment and to meet specific ergonomic and spatial requirements, banquette seating offers endless design opportunities whilst cleverly maximizing the use of space,” he adds.

All of Lyndon Design’s bespoke upholstery is supported by a complete consultative service. Over the years, the company has adopted the motto – ‘Concept – Collaboration – Creation – Installation’ in order to ensure that its bespoke service delivers a tailored product that is unique and impeccably designed to suit specific requirements.

Tim continues: “Our custom built upholstery service is legendary and we are proud to offer this completely in-house. Often discounted by interior designers on the basis of cost, bespoke banquette seating in particular, can provide a greater return on investment, particularly in restaurants where cover space is sacred.”

As well as banquette seating, Lyndon Design regularly turns its upholstery design and manufacturing skill set to a number of made-to-order options including; wall panels, bedroom headboards and ottomans, together with chaise longues and benches. Individual style and detail may be created through the addition of vertical and horizontal fluting, button detailing, and specialist stitch and panelling facets.

Part of The Boss Design Group – the UK’s leading seating manufacturer – Lyndon Design specialises in the design and manufacture of handcrafted upholstery and furniture for commercial interiors. Specified worldwide throughout the hospitality, leisure, retail and corporate sectors, Lyndon Design is renowned for its classic and simplistic designs, high-end quality and craftsmanship, together with its bespoke manufacturing capabilities. Established in 1982 and based in Cheltenham, the company boasts extensive design and woodwork facilities that combine traditional hand-crafted techniques with state-of-the-art CNC systems.
