Graham Construction has scooped a contract to upgrade the School of Mathematical Sciences Building for Queen Mary University of London.
Key works will include refurbishing and extending the building with new learning and social spaces.
The building envelope will be replaced and works have already started on site. It is expected that the project will be completed in April 2019.
Queen Mary’s School of Mathematical Sciences head Boris Khoruzhenko said: “We are already looking forward to returning next year to a transformed building where students, staff and visitors can work together in a fantastic new environment.”
Graham also landed a place on Scape’s £1.1bn regional framework last month. It was one of 11 contractors who won a place on the framework to deliver projects around the Midlands and East of England.
There are 11 lots divided into bands by project value. These range from £0-£750k through to an intermediate band of £500k-£2.5m and up to the highest grading of £1m-£5m.
