Join us at Retro Expo London

Retro Expo has an exciting line up for you this year. Launching on the day of the Chancellor’s autumn statement, the two day exhibition and conference will debate the future of ECO with the likes of DECC, npower, Willmott Dixon and NEA. The show will also explore the growing retrofit market in London with the Deputy Mayor and will shed a light on the practicalities of retrofitting at scale and how to engage customers with the help of Futerra, C40 and Savills.

Taking place on 05 and 06 December at the Business Design Centre in London, Retro Expo highlights include:

The Retrofit Summit (05 December, 9:00am – 5.00pm)

The future of ECO, how to engage customers and making retrofit work at scale will be the focus of this one day conference.

Ever since the Prime Minister David Cameron signalled his desire to ‘roll back’ green levies the future of ECO has been in question. The news has badly shaken Industry and could result in at least 30,000 jobs being at risk should the scheme be abandoned. Whether the scheme will be scrapped or scaled back we are expected to find out in the Chancellor’s autumn statement on 5 December. The full impact of this shift in policy will be explored in detail at the Retrofit Summit with DECC, npower, Willmott Dixon and NEA.

Solitaire Townsend, co-founder of Futerra, will also chair a session on whether or not we are engaging with customers effectively. Customers from both the domestic and non-domestic sectors will put forward their needs and why they’re not yet being met to a panel of industry representatives comprising Bioregional, Federation of Master Builders, Keepmoat and Knauf Insulation.

The afternoon looks at the challenge of making retrofit work at scale- from technical and access issues, through to finance, skills and the need for collaboration. This session, chaired by Terry McGivern from the Institute for Sustainability, will discuss what has already been done to tackle these issues, where we are still falling short and how we can engender a retrofit revolution.

The conference will conclude with a retrofit question time where a panel of policy and industry experts will take questions from delegates on hot retrofit topics of the day.

Summit tickets cost £195 plus VAT per person. To book your place please visit www.retrofit-summit.co.uk

The Retro Expo Awards Ceremony (06 December, 8.30am – 4.30pm)

Following the Summit there will be a drinks reception where we will be announcing the winners of the Retro Expo Awards. Over 40 businesses have been shortlisted, to see who they are visit www.retroexpoawards.co.uk

Retrofit London (06 December, 8.30am – 4.30pm)

Supported by the Mayor of London, this event will shed a light on the practicalities of retrofitting London, how to engage customers, retrofit business opportunities and the latest regulation, sources of funding and pioneering technologies.

Shannon Lawrence from C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group will open the conference with a global view of how cities are addressing the market for energy efficiency and ways in which London is leading the international field. The GLA, Environment Agency and Aldersgate Group will then explore how policy, social changes and economic climate will affect the market for retrofit in London. Two seminars will then ensue. Savills together with the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Haringey will explore how to engage with people on retrofit whilst Hill Dickinson and the London Landlord Accreditation Scheme will examine regulatory drivers.

In the afternoon, the practicalities of retrofitting London will be tackled by Willmott Dixon, GLA and Rickaby Thompson Associates.  Marksman Consulting, London Borough of Enfield, Adecoe and Verco will look at how to finance retrofits. The conference will then conclude with a keynote address from Richard Blakeway, Deputy Mayor for Housing, Land and Property on how retrofitting at scale in London will drive economic growth.

Retrofit London tickets cost £145 plus VAT per person. To book your place please www.retrofit-roadshow.co.uk
