SPECFLUE’S REWARDING EXPERIENCE

SPECFLUE’S REWARDING EXPERIENCE

Highly valued Specflue customer Dave Clarke & Son is a long established heating and plumbing family firm in Hinckley, Leicestershire whose professionalism has been truly rewarded and noted with the three major awards in their sector.

The company has just picked up the title of Energy Efficient Installer Of The Year In the Heating & Ventilating sector at the prestigious event held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair. The award reflects the work they have done in recent years to promote high quality installation work using the latest equipment designed to use less energy, create less emissions and reduce heating bills. The Specflue products involved include their pioneering stainless steel Xcel HEATBANK ® thermal storage technology, the elegant MCZ biomass stove and boiler selection and of course the all embracing original flues range. As Dave Clarke observes” It’s always nice to be recognised for what we do, day to day, for a living. There are so many quality firms operating in our industry that to be singled out for an award like this is humbling. We’re highly delighted and to be out there at the forefront of what we do makes all our team feel that they are part of a very successful business that has got its priorities right and doing an excellent job for customers”

Dave Clarke & Son also hold the current Renewables Awards having been building an impressive reputation for high quality work for many years, particularly in the installation of renewable energy and water saving systems in conjunction with the Specflue group. The company has specialised in the integration of different equipment to maximise on the energy saving benefits available from a renewable based heating system and a visit to the company’s premises is visually impressive for the comprehensive choice of products and systems on working display that illustrate different solutions to heating needs and budgets. The Renewables accolade was for Water Efficient Installer of the Year and was the result of the work the company has done with grey water systems and rainwater harvesting installations. Maintaining the family ethos son and partner in the business Dale Clarke  – who has completed the Specflue Biomass Course in Sudbury – collected the award with his wife Vicky from event host TV star and sports presenter Gabby Logan.

“You always hope in these situations,” said Dale, “but you try not to get too excited about it. Then when you hear your company’s name announced as the winner, everything goes mad and you find yourselves almost running towards the stage to collect the award!! This was an award that recognises the hard work my mum and dad have put into the business for 30 years but it’s an award for each and every one of the twenty five people that work for the company, recognising the excellent work they do for our customers.”

To complete the awards trio on a true environmental note Dave’s wife Anne has just learned that her submission in to the International Green Apple awards has resulted in the company becoming a Green World Ambassador which will entail a presentation at the NSBRC in Swindon followed by the icing on the cake as it were with attendance at the Houses of Parliament in November to receive a certificate, an etched plaque and a video featuring combined corporate introduction and the ceremony itself plus on-going usage of the Green Apple logo.

Dave Clarke sums up his company’s notable success “ We believe in matching old values of customer support with the latest cost-effective technology which is why we have created our welcoming showroom to put visitors at ease and take the time to listen and explain our solutions. The Specflue HEATBANK® for example may look to be rather space-age at first but it does exactly what it says and customers soon appreciate the variety of natural heat sources and the means to fit it in to any location. We continually match customer’s best interests with all aspects of health and safety and in turn enjoy mutual support and loyalty with Specflue and all of our suppliers. We are also an MCS Centre of Excellence with the means to educate and guide all concerned combined with dedicated national experience and respect for budgets all along the way”.
