The Sash Window Workshop Restores Timber Windows and Doors in Victorian Mansion

Historic houses often have unique challenges when looking to refurbish and restore them. However, sympathetic restorations can not only restore the charm and beauty of the property, but also help increase the value of the property.

Located in Hampshire, the Victorian mansion had beautiful surroundings but was in dire need of restoration. The house had had little maintenance work carried out in recent years, so when it was brought my new owners the house required a lot of work to restore it to its former glory. As part of the restoration project, the new owners decided to contact The Sash Window Workshop to assess a balcony door and all the windows in the property.

After assessing the timber windows and door, two windows and the balcony door were found require complete replacement. 7 sash windows and 14 casement windows also required new moving sashes into the existing window frames. One oval window also required redecoration.

As all the windows and doors that The Sash Window Workshop manufacture are bespoke, they could produce an exact replica of the windows and door requiring replacement.

The replacement windows and door manufactured and installed by The Sash Window Workshop fit perfectly with the style of the property, which has now been restored to a beautiful home.

As a FENSA registered company, the customer received a FENSA certificate for the complete new windows, increasing the value of the property and certifying that the work complies with building regulations.

The Sash Window Workshop are specialists with over 20 years’ experience working on period properties across London and the South. They also offer a supply only service across the whole of the UK.
