Wright & Wright's scheme for Lambeth Palace Library & Archive granted

Wright & Wright are working on a single national library and archive for the National Church Institutions of the Church of England at Lambeth Palace in London.

Located on the south bank of the River Thames opposite the Palace of Westminster, the new building will take the form of an ‘occupied wall’, rising to create a nine-storey tower, a sensitive addition which will animate the skyline of Lambeth Palace. Read more...

British consumers projected to spend £35bn on home improvements by the end of the year

British homeowners are set to spend an estimated £35bn upgrading their homes by the end of the year.

The University of Warwick celebrated its 50 year anniversary in 2015 and many of the buildings on its Gibbet Hill Campus were purpose-built when the University was first established. Amongst these is the Life Sciences Building, which was constructed in 1965 and contains a lecture theatre, research labs and teaching spaces as well as offices and a café.

While the building is structurally sound, the building envelope had started to show signs of wear and tear and its distinctive black and white tile cladding was in urgent need of repair. Read more...
