Cameron house resort unveils first phase of two million pound upgrade to its clubhouse and spa

Luxury Scottish five-star resort, Cameron House has unveiled the first stage in a two-million-pound transformation of its Carrick Resort into the Cameron Club and Spa.

Led by award-winning Scottish interior design firm, Greyline Design, the initial six-week modernisation project has upgraded the resort’s Clubhouse and Café Spa, revamping the interior and food and drink offering.

Previously known as The Claret Jug restaurant, the renamed Clubhouse at Cameron has been fully renovated while retaining original features such as the stone fireplace and flagstone floor, creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Meanwhile, the Café Spa has been relocated to the same level as the Clubhouse and offers a relaxing space complete with contemporary furnishings of colourful Scottish wools and soft leather. New internal windows have been installed which maximise natural light and make the most of the resort’s iconic views.

Located within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs national park, Cameron House resort has an array of dining options, an 18-hole Championship golf course, award-winning spa and lodge facilities.  Cameron House Hotel, The Leisure Club, The Great Scots bar and Cameron Grill will reopen in 2020.

The Clubhouse at Cameron will serve traditional gastropub favourites created from the finest locally sourced ingredients alongside a selection of cocktails, wines, and beers. The refreshed Café Spa will offer a choice of contemporary dishes with a healthy focus, perfect after a rejuvenating day at the spa.

Phase two of the Cameron Club and Spa renovation and will see the treatment rooms and spa facilities upgraded.

Commenting on the project, resort director Andy Roger said: “This work represents the start of an exciting transformation of what was previously called the Carrick Resort into the Cameron Club and Spa. Relocating the Café Spa to the ground floor level has allowed us to increase capacity and transform the Spa arrival experience. All of this was completed with the utmost care to ensure any changes make the most of our stunning setting. We are excited to continue to plan the next phases of the overall project and look forward to welcome guests to the new Clubhouse and Café Spa.”

Greyline Design’s Gavin Liddle commented: “Our key aim for The Clubhouse at Cameron was to create a welcoming, characterful space with a laid-back feel. As well as a full renovation of the interior, the lighting has also been upgraded throughout to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere where guests can take a moment to sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Loch Lomond.

“As a stand-alone development, the Café Spa was an exciting clean sheet design opportunity. We mixed hard finishes such as grey parquet flooring with three-dimensional bronze mosaic and timber wall panelling, creating a calming space with warmth and character.”

Award-winning architecture firm 3DReid and renowned property consultants, Amicus worked alongside Greyline Design to deliver the project.

As well as a changing seasonal menu, The Clubhouse at Cameron holds monthly dining events such as, live music nights every Friday, steak nights and whisky, wine and gin tasting experiences.

With Father’s Day fast approaching the Clubhouse has partnered with 4X4 Scotland to offer guests the Ultimate Father’s Day Adventure; this includes delicious dining, a 4X4 off-road driving experience and a thrilling speedboat adventure on Loch Lomond.
